Printed on clay based paper with color illustrations by Dixon throughout. Full color frontispiece. Previous owner's name in pencil on blank page before frontispiece. A beautiful volume in wonderful condition. 160 pages.

Beautifully rebound first edition of Booker T. Washington's book. Rebound in maroon cloth with gilt text on the spine. Gilt top edge, deckle edge on side and bottom. Library impression on title page and table of contents. No ink on the impression. Title page of volume I, has small tears and chips around the edge. Title page of Volume II, has a small chip missing at the top. The books, which were in very poor condition have been professionally rebound and are now a beautiful addition to a collector's library. Pagination: 1-332/1-437. Very good condition.
