A VOYAGE TO THE ISLANDS OF JAMAICA, MADERA, BARBADOES, NIEVES, ST.CHRISTORPHER. Sir Hans Sloane. London, 1727.
The first publication to describe and illustrate the flora and fauna of Jamaica. Sir Hans Sloane
was a collector and physician, visiting Jamaica in 1687, he collected 800 new species. On his
death in 1753 he bequeathed this important collection to the British nation and this founded
the British Museum. Volume 2 only (of 2), but containing 134 mostly folding copper plate
engravings of superior quality. Volume 1 was published some 20 years earlier and often is not
with this volume. Good condition,missing front cover,otherwise all text and plates are in
fairly good condition,original binding,folio edition.

Civil and Natural History of Jamaica. Patrick Browne. London, 1756.
The Civil and Natural History of Jamaica in Three Parts. printed London 1756 and sold
by T.Osborne and J.Shipton, Gray's InnFirst edition, VERY RARE
being the only edition to be published with the two maps and 49 further copper plate
engravings of fish, insects and plants, by the famous engraver G.EHRET. (Stating 50
plates at front but correct with 49) All the copper plates and original drawings were
lost in a fire at Cornhill in 1765, the second edition of the book contained only a
map of Jamaica, new indexes and no plates. Magnificent chart of Kingston and Port Royal
area (27"x19") large cartouche, shading to fields, outline of town, further Correct Map
of Jamaica with cartouche title, well deatiled (21"x10"). Plates and contents generally
very good, a few front leaves with very mild stains, some mild overall age toning.
490 pages plus index, preface etc., Folio in modern calf. Last sold at auction in 1986.

An album of Hawaii's Flowers. Sign "ALOHA DON BLANDING" Words Pictures by DON BLANDING.
Floral Pictures by T.J. Mundorff. He was born in 1910 in Pittsburgh, educated at the
prestigious private school of Punaho Honolulu. He returned to mainland after graduation,
worked for Ford Motor Co. painting cars. He returned to Hawaii in 1936 where he opened
his first Artist studio called "Hawaiian Pallet". He was considerable talented, especially
with air-brush and produced a prolific amount of paintings. He died in 1969.
Condition: Uncut pages,excellent condition. quarto edition. Original Hard cover.
