The Gremlins. Roald Dahl. New York, Random House, 1943.
This is a FIRST edition from 1943 without dust jacket. The book is in very good condition
having clean interior pages ,complete color plates and black and white drawings. The cover
of the book has the original cloth spine and red pictorial boards. The edges and corners
of the cover have wear and the back of the cover has some loss of color through rubbing.
The front cover has a little bubbling -not affecting the drawing at all. Inside the pictorial
end papers show some bubbling (as if the paper has come away from the boards - this is not
water damage). The book is from the Walt Disney production. The story is by the famed author
Roald Dahl, who was in the Royal Air Force.

Mr. Woodchuck. Laura Bancroft. Reilly and Britton, 1906.
62 pp. This 1906 book is a FIRST edition, 2nd state in excellent condition. It is part of the
Twilight Tales written by L. Frank Baum (Bancroft was a pen name). The book has clean
interior pages showing very light occasional smudges. There is a name neatly written on
the front end paper. The cover has a new spine done professionally. On the back of the
cover there are small areas of light stain (also seen on the bottom of the first 4 pages
of the book).The pictorial cover showing Mr. Woodchuck leaning on his cane is bright and
complete. There is a tiny rub of the green bottom with darkening along the edge. There is
only a tiny bit of edge wear . All together a great little book.

413 numbered pages with additional advertisements for additional books.
First Edition, First Printing SIGNED by Upton Sinclair on front end paper to Dr. George Gould
(a Civil War veteran and later an Ophthalmologist in Philadelphia). This book has February
1906 printed on the copyright page with no additional printings. This Jungle Publishing Co
publication has the Sustainer's Edition bookplate. The book is in nice condition with some
wear to the spine and panels. The binding is tight, showing some beginning interior splitting
from the covers. Pages are clean. There is NO writing, marks or bookplates in the book.
Overall, an attractive copy SIGNED by the author.

spine and corners. The last page is separating from the back cover. An attractive and uncommon
L. Frank Baum book.
