[Original Typescript/Manuscript] The Case of the Smoking Chimney. Gardner, Erle Stanley. New York: William Morrow & Co., 1943.

Description:
Quarto, 258 typed pages (one side) with added text and corrections by the author throughout, often with an entire page in manuscript. [Together with] A first edition of the book, both housed in a 1/4 morocco clamshell box. Long before Gardner died, he pledged his books and manuscripts to the University of Texas, in Austin. The University has 140 manuscripts in their collection and we have seen none coming to market; therefore, we conclude that very few, if any others are privately held.

Price $24,000.00
