Elephant folio. (68 x 50 cm.) text in smaller format as issued (50 x 34 cm. ) comprising pp. XXII + [ii], XXII+[ii] + [i] in Russian and repeated in French. Circa 1908 cloth covered boards in a "modern" design. 43 leaves of illustrations of which the first 36 are full page chromolithographs of individual carpets and then 7 have several black and white photo illustrations per page, and 2 double page maps. The first great book on Turkoman carpets, along with the Martin, two volume elephant folio, also 1908, which we also have ( sold separately). An impressive production for its time or for any time.
